There are 3 physicians and 4 registered nurses on the Disney Dream. If you should fall ill while on your cruise, you can visit the ship’s medical staff where there is a physician and nurse on staff 24 hours a day for basic medical needs. If you purchased vacation insurance it can offset costs for medical services while onboard the ship, but you will need to pay the full amount of the bill, then submit a claim to the insurance for reimbursement. Certain personal health insurance plans do cover costs while onboard, so check with your individual health insurance provider before you travel.
Please note that if a member of your party becomes sick with a fever, vomiting, diarrhea, rash or other possibly contagious symptoms, they may not be able to participate in activities including the Kids Clubs.
It is recommended that any medications brought onboard the ship be in their original containers. We also suggest that you bring a copy of your prescriptions just in case you need this documentation. If your medicine requires refrigeration, you will need to complete a medical form to obtain a refrigerator for your room (rather than just the standard cooler). This form is also required if you need a sharps container for disposal of syringes, etc.
