Strategies & Tips

At this time, Star Wars: Rise of Resistance does not have a stand-by line or Fastpass line. Instead, Disney is implementing a virtue que system by assigning Boarding Groups. The only way to experience this attraction is by joining a Boarding Group at park open. Here are strategies and tips to help you.

Before You Go:

• Download the Disney World App and familiarize yourself with the app. (Specifically the location to access the Boarding Group.)

• Make sure everyone in your group is linked through “My Friends and Family.”

How to Join a Boarding Group:

-Log  into your My Disney Experience App.

-Click “Find Out More” under the Rise of the Resistance picture.

-At 7AM and 2PM, click join Boarding Group. Only for the 2PM group do you need to physically be in the park.

Tips & Info:

– One person in your group can add everyone to a Boarding Group as long as you are linked through “My Friends and Family.”

-Have every member of your party with a phone attempt to get a Boarding Group. Whoever is fastest will get the boarding passes, and will lock everyone else out with the Not So Fast/Already in Boarding Group message.

If your Boarding Group is called, you have 1 hour to get back to the ride.

– Once you have a Boarding Group, you will not know the exact time to return until your group is called.  Your return time is going to be based upon how quickly the attraction cycles the guests through who are in front of you in the virtual queue. (Plus how many or few times it breaks down.)

– If a dining reservation conflicts with your return time, please contact a Cast Member.

• Backlot Express – Celebrate your love for a galaxy far, far away with Star Wars-themed eats like the Royal Guard Burger, Galactic Chicken Salad or even Dark Side Chicken and Waffle! Indoor seating and soft drink refills.

• Remember to use Mobile Ordering where available.

Snack Recommendations:

• Oasis Canteen by Echo Lake – Take a break from the sun and imbibe on some fun at this poolside retreat—featuring tasty favorites like fish tacos, kalua pork sliders and Polynesian-themed burgers, along with tropical cocktails, wine, Hawaiian beer and assorted beverages.

• Snack cart by Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway- Churros and Mickey ice cream.
